OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State field hockey team fell 5-1 to No. 17 New Paltz Friday evening at Laker Turf Stadium. With the loss, Oswego goes to .500 1-1 in the conference and 1-5 on the season. The Hawks improve to 7-1 overall (1-0 SUNYAC).
After allowing four goals, the Lakers were able to create some offensive presence with 17:38 remaining in regulation.

Monica Harvey knocked down with her stick.
Emily Lange was able to corral the loose ball and find the back of the goal.
The Lakers continued to apply pressure including a shot from Lange that was rocketed off the crossbar. Oswego was unable to find the back of the net though, eventually falling 5-1.
Grace Lombardi minded the goal for Oswego, racking up nine saves on the day, including a pad save on a penalty stroke in the second half.
Field hockey will return to the field at 3 p.m. on Saturday as it continues SUNYAC play with a home contest against Oneonta
