VICTOR, N.Y. – The Oswego State golf team is currently tied for third place after day one of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship. Its team score of 298 is a single-stroke behind the second place squad and likewise behind the leaders.
Sean Paul Owen led the Laker field in the first round with yet another personal-best score, less than a week after he broke his previous best. Owen's 72, tied him for fifth place overall and was even with what is par for the course at Ravenwood Golf Club. The sophomore is slated to tee-off at 8:33 a.m. for the final round on Sunday.
Oswego got other outstanding performances from
Corey Marshall,
Joshua Krause and
Nick Gramuglia after each recorded a score inside 80 on the day. Marshall shot a 73 to tie his season-best score and tie for ninth overall. The round score was also just one stroke over par. He will look to best it beginning at 8:51 a.m.
Krause and Gramuglia shot a 75 and 78, respectively to anchor the team and help it score under 300. Krause leads off for the Lakers on Sunday beginning with his scheduled tee-time of 8:15 a.m., while Gramuglia is slated to start nine minutes later.
