Oswego pressed Alfred throughout this one, despite the score line. The Lakers actually began the contest on a 5-2 run, before extending its lead to 9-5 in the first set. It would go back and forth throughout. As Oswego trailed 19-16 in the set, Rina Qelaj came onto the court to serve and was able to win five-straight points, before the Lakers eventually succumbed in the set.

Qelaj tallied three service aces in the match and also contributed 12 digs to the defensive effort. Emma Moriarty (10) and Lauren Edwards (8) combined for 18 more digs.

Offensively, Megan Russell, Ariel Murawski and Meaghan Roefs led in kills. The trio had seven, five and five in the column respectively.

Once again Russell (12) and Roefs (9) were on the team leader board for kills, adding up to put away 21 balls. Isabella Winklestine also tallied eight of her own.

Lauren Edwards (25) and Lindsey Champitto (20) split the setting duties, as usual, by dishing out 45 total helpers in the contest. Qelaj added two of her own.

Defensively, Laura Finn was a presence at the net. The freshman recorded a career-high four block assists. Along with Roefs (3), Russell (3), Winklestine (1), Champitto (1) and Sullivan (2), the Lakers finished with 12 total blocks.

Oswego returns to action at 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening as the No. 6 Lakers travel to third-seed New Paltz for the first round of the SUNYAC Championship.
