GENEVA, N.Y. – The Oswego State field hockey team suffered its first loss of 2016 6-0 to nationally-ranked William Smith College on the road Tuesday night. With the loss, the Lakers are now 6-1 overall while the No. 13 Herons are 8-3.

Sarita Charap had a busy day in net, facing 24 shots-on-goal. The junior's 18 saves is a season-high and the third-most in a single-game for her three-year career. Of the 18 stops, Charap made 14 in the second half.
On offense, Oswego managed two shots on the night, coming from
Monica Harvey and
Lacey Woite. Woite's attempt was on-goal while both of the Laker shots came in the opening stanza.
The Lakers will return to action at 6 p.m. on Friday when they host Brockport in a conference matchup at Laker Turf Stadium.
