FIRST DAY RESULTS
BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. – The Oswego State golf team opened the St. John Fisher College Invitational with a two-round day of 36 holes. In round one at Timber Banks Golf Course, the Lakers shot a 324 and in the later round, Oswego shaved a stroke off for a 323. Overall, Oswego's combined 647 places it third behind the University of Rochester in first at 615 and St. John Fisher's 'A' squad in second with 617.
Three Lakers finished in the top 20 on Saturday, with
Corey Marshall just one stroke back of first on the individual leaderboard. Marshall needed 77 strokes to complete the morning round but used four less during the second 18 holes, totaling a 150 for the day.
Tied for 13th is
Sean Paul Owen, who had a consistent day with two 81s. Rounding out those in the top 20 was
Zachary Hiris with a 165 (78, 87).
Oswego and the rest of the field will close out the three round tourney on Sunday, playing 18 holes at Beaver Meadow Golf Club in Phoenix, N.Y.
