RESULTS
PENN YAN, N.Y. – The Oswego State golf team captured first place in the Keuka College Fall Invitational at Lakeside Country Club on Wednesday afternoon.
Of the 12 teams participating at the links, Oswego's five-man squad managed a score of 311. The tally was six shots better than the second-place team from SUNY Delhi and seven shots above Daeman College's group, which tied for third with SUNY Canton.
Corey Marshall continues to dazzle on the greens with a 76 in the invite earning him a tie for third place. The sophomore is fresh off a stellar performance in the St. John Fisher Invitational on Saturday, which earned him Oswego State Athlete of the Week honors.
Zachary Hiris stayed with Marshall throughout, tying for fifth and finishing just one stroke behind him by shooting a 77. The score was his best of the season thus far by a single stroke after he finished round one of the Fisher Invite on Saturday with a 78.
Stu Winn and
Kyle McCloskey tied for third on the team with a score of 79.
Sean Paul Owen rounded out the Lakers scorers by recording an 81 on the day. All of the Laker golfers finished inside the top-20.
Golf returns home now to host its own invitational. The 19
th Annual Oswego Fall Invite will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday at the Oswego Country Club.
