FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's basketball team fell, 45-61, to Fredonia on the road on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Lakers move to 3-7 overall and 1-3 in conference play, while Fredonia improves to 4-6 on the season and an even 2-2 in SUNYAC action.
Senior
Courtney Ameele put up a game-high 17 points for the Lakers, with 12 of those points coming from 3-pointers. The Palmyra native has sunk 23 shots from beyond the arc this season, the most on the team. Ameele also leads the Lakers in points, scoring an average 15.2 points per game.
Classmate
Zana Dillard picked up 12 rebounds, five offensive and seven defensive, against Fredonia. The rebounds bring her total to 114 this season, a team-high. Dillard entered the weekend 19
th in the nation in rebounds.
As a team, the Lakers were successful in capitalizing off of the Blue Devils' mistakes. Oswego notched 11 points off turnovers, while Fredonia only scored eight.
Next, the Lakers travel to Cazenovia on Friday for a nonconference matchup at 5:30 p.m.
