RESULTS
ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Oswego State golf team earned a runner-up finish at the Elmira College Spring Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the Elmira Country Club. Oswego totaled a 326 (+38) to claim second place, trailing only Daemen College by five strokes.
Two Lakers finished in the top five, led by tournament runner-up
Erik Schleicher. The freshman shot a 79 – just one of two golfers in the 70s – behind only the medalist from Daemen who shot a plus-2 74. Also in the top five was
Corey Marshall with a score of 81 (+9), good for fourth place.
Rounding out the scoring towards the Laker team score were
Sean Paul Owen and
Stu Winn. Both Lakers posted scores of 83 (+11) to finish in a six-way tie for sixth place.
Nick Gramuglia had a top 15 showing on the 42-man individual leaderboard, using 85 strokes to grab a share of 14th place.
Oswego will now host its annual spring tournament on Saturday and Sunday at the Oswego Country Club, with tee times starting at 11:30 a.m. on the first day.
