They surged past Cortland and claimed a 10-8 lead after falling behind 5-1 with 6:58 left in the second period. Nason scored the go-ahead goal, putting Oswego up 9-8 with just over 13 minutes remaining, before
Caleb Alford notched the Lakers final tally.
Approaching the midway point of the third period,
Bobby Emerson connected on back-to-back goals with only 19 seconds between to tie the contest for the first time at 6-6. Emerson scored six goals on the day, while
Tim Schof – who assisted on three of Emerson's tallies – notched five assists.
Emerson's final two goals brought the Lakers back for a second time after Cortland regained the lead. He was assisted by
Jarrod Wilkom, who assumed the role of facilitator during the game by dealing out five helpers.
Wyatt Russo took the tough loss in the goal as he made every effort to keep the nationally-ranked squad from scoring. The senior face 48 shots, making 16 saves in over 60 minutes of playing time.
