OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State golf team wrapped up its spring season with the hosting of the final day of the 11
th Annual Laker Spring Tournament on Sunday afternoon. Despite heavy rains earlier in the morning, all of the teams were able to complete the final round as the course stayed playable.
Oswego's 'A' squad finished third overall – just two strokes behind the top squad St. John Fisher – after combining the two days of scores, while Oswego 'B' placed fifth.
Sean Paul Owen and
Corey Marshall paced the top Oswego squad, coming in third and fourth with a 72 and an 76 round score, respectively. Overall, Owen totaled 151 and was plus-9, whereas Marshall had a score of 156, which was 14 strokes over par. Rounding out the Oswego 'A' efforts was
Erik Schleicher and
Nick Gramuglia, who tied for 18
th overall with 163, while
Stu Winn finished three shots behind them at 166.
For Oswego 'B',
Cody Weiss and
Kyle McCloskey were the top dogs and were separated by just one stroke. Weiss backed a 78 on Saturday with an 80 for a total of 158 and McCloskey backed a 76 with an 83 to come in at 159.
Daniel Mort and Zach Hiris either stayed even or improved on Sunday, finishing at 162 and 174, respectively.
Among the 49 individuals participating, the Lakers placed four in the top 10 and three more inside the top 20.
