THE BASICS
  • Result: Oswego 2, Fredonia 1
  • Location: Laker Turf Stadium – Oswego, N.Y.
  • Records: Oswego 5-7-1 (2-5-0 SUNYAC)  |  Fredonia 4-9-1 (1-6-0)
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A slow first half gave way to an action-packed final 45 minutes, in which all three goals were notched.
  • After Fredonia cracked the scoreboard first in the 56th minute off a failed clear by the Lakers, Oswego answered with two goals over the next 13 minutes.
  • The first Laker tally came from Ormsby, who settled his own headed shot that was saved, and gave it a touch inside the right post for a goal.
  • Tied at 1-1 in the 62nd minute, Oswego grabbed the lead with the eventual game-winner just over seven minutes later.
  • Jack Van Pelt found a streaking Asamoah down the left side, who beat his defender to the inside and buried the goal in the lower right corner of the net.
  • It was the senior's third goal of the year, while Van Pelt copied that amount in the assist column.
  • Sophomore Brian Terra made two stops between the pipes for Oswego, collecting his fifth win on the season.
  • Oswego doubled the Blue Devils in shot attempts, but both teams were even with three chances on target.
