OSWEGO, N.Y. – The No. 9/10 Oswego State men's ice hockey team clinched its first regular season victory of 2018, handing conference-foe Cortland a 4-2 loss on Friday evening. Freshman
Travis Broughman recorded two goals and an assist in the Lakers' win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Broughman began the scoring for Oswego as he found the back of the net for the first regular season goal of his collegiate career.
- The Mechanicsville, Va. native was helped along by Anthony Passero and Carter Allen, for Passero's first regular season assist as a Laker.
- The Lakers' second goal was added by Tanner Spink, as he collected a long Broughman pass for a breakaway goal. Also aiding in Oswego's tally was Allen for his second assist of the night.
- Broughman added his second goal on a Laker power play, half way through the second period, giving the Lakers a 3-0 lead.
- The forward's goal was the result of an Aaron Huffnagle pass from the blue line. Huffnagle was fed the puck by Tyler Currie who was stationed in the middle of the blue line.
- Adding to the Lakers' goal count was Derek Brown, also on a power play, scored his first goal as a Laker just under halfway through the final period.
- Assistant captain Josh Zizek and Max Novick assisted on the transfers' goal, for their first points of the 2018-19 season.
- The Lakers finished the night two for five on the power play.
- Goaltender David Richer was strong in net facing 16 shots, allowing two goals.
- The Lakers held an advantage in shots on-goal (29-16) and faceoffs (59-34).

Oswego travels to SUNY Canton for a non-conference contest, slated to begin at 7 p.m. on Friday.
