Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

No. 6/8 Oswego Downs Brockport in SUNYAC Matchup

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The No. 6/8 Oswego State men's ice hockey team took down the Brockport Golden Eagles in its third annual Teddy Bear Toss game. Five different Lakers tallied goals in the team's victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • assistant captain Josh Zizek tallied the first Laker goal, sending an avalanche of stuffed animals on the Marano Campus Center Arena ice. Zizek's goal came at 15:23 in the first period, aided by Devin Campbell and Tanner Spink.
  • Travis Broughman added to the first period goal count, as he recorded his third goal of the season on the power play. Broughman was assisted by Anthony Passero and Joseph Molinaro.
  • Rounding out the first period goals for the Lakers was Mitch Emerson, who tipped in a Gillespie shot with eight minutes remaining in the first period. Max Novick also recorded a helper on Emerson's goal. 
  • The Golden Eagles would make the board mid-way through the second period as Danny Rock found the back of the net, but the Lakers were quick to regain their lead as captain Devin Campbell notched the first goal of his collegiate career.
  • Campbell's goal was helped along by Passero and Tyler Currie.
  • Molinaro rounded out the scoring for the Lakers as he scored a power play goal with less than five minutes remaining in the final period.  His tally was assisted by Currie, who now leads the team with seven assists, and Aaron Huffnagle.
  • David Richer spent all 60 minutes in the goal for the Lakers, collecting 13 saves.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers hit the road for a top-tier matchup as they take on No. 2/2 Geneseo at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
