AMHERST, MASS. – The Oswego State women's ice hockey team defeated Amherst College 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. Jean-marie Padden recorded both of the Laker goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After a scoreless first period, Padden was able to break the stalemate, as she tallied a goal at 10:26. The sophomore's goal was assisted by Eryn Stewart. Amherst tied the game up less than a minute later.
• The Cranford, N.J. native was not done, as her second goal came just 32 seconds later, aided by Stewart and Avery Webster.
• Stewart currently leads the team in helpers with six, while Webster holds down the runner-up spot with four.
• Cassie Shokar stood on her head for the second game in-a-row. Shokar stopped a career-high 40 Mammoth attempts.
• The freshman netminder is now 2-1-0 in her first season, with 100 saves in four games played.
• The Lakers owned a 51-19 face off advantage.

WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego will observe a winter break before returning to action on Tuesday Jan. 8 at 4 p.m., as they travel to Allyn Ice Arena (Skaneateles, N.Y.) for a neutral site contest with Nazareth College.
