MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Oswego State volleyball team made quick work of SUNY Poly to start its season at the Morrisville State College Tournament on Friday night. Head coach JJ O'Connell stays perfect on opening days at Oswego, as the Lakers have won the first game of each campaign in his eight years at the helm.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Offensively, the Lakers were led by senior Alison Sullivan, who racked up 11 kills.
- Sarah Braddon (7), Melissa Lussier (6) and Lauren Fie (5) combined for 18 kills.
- Junior Julia Flohr added the offensive attack with a team-high 17 assists while senior Alison Berger was not far behind with 13.
- Passing was also a strong suit for Flohr, collecting 10 digs to trail only teammate Mira Legnon-Bozman's 13.
- On defense, Fie was a strong deterrent, account for six block assists.
- Lussier aided in four blocks as well while Sarah Massie added two.
- As a team, Oswego recorded 13 service aces, paced by Berger's five and a pair of triples from both Lussier and Emily Costa.

The Lakers continue at the Morrisville Tournament, beginning with the host Mustangs at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
