OSWEGO, N.Y. – For the fourth-straight season, the Oswego State golf team claimed first place at its annual fall invitational. The 21st Annual Oswego State Fall Invitational went to the Lakers' "A" squad, with
Corey Marshall collecting medalist honors.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- As a team, the Oswego "A" group shaved seven strokes off its day one total, shooting a 302.
- The Lakers arrived at that total with help of Marshall's two-day consistency and Sean Paul Owen's Sunday effort.
- Marshall led the tournament after Saturday and posted a 76 on Sunday for the low final score of 148.
- The senior was even on par-4 holes over the weekend, while the next closest opponent was at plus-3.
- Owen made a valiant comeback after a Saturday 81, trimming 11 strokes off his total for the best 18-hole score of the tournament (70).
- The senior was the only player in the 57-man field to break par over the weekend (-1 on Sunday), aiding in his four-way tie for second place.
- Owen led the tournament in birdies with 10, four more than the next closest player.
- Freshman Ryan Fecco was dependable throughout the weekend, following Saturday's 77 with a Sunday 78.
- Jackson Mordaunt and Daniel Mort each tied for 14th place with a 36-hole total of 158.
- Also finishing in the top 20 were Erik Schleicher and Christian Gramuglia, both shooting 161 for an 18th-place tie.
WHAT'S NEXT
The golf team will have one more tournament before going on hiatus during the winter. Oswego will take part in the Nazareth College Invitational on Oct. 13-14. The first round will be played at Monroe Country Club while the final round will take place at Irondequoit Country Club.
