Lakers Don Teal Jerseys in Exhibition Loss

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's ice hockey team hosted an exhibition game with the London Jr. Devilettes on Saturday. Oswego wore teal jerseys during the game for its annual Teal Game, helping to raise awareness for ovarian cancer.

THE BASICS
  • Result: London 4, Oswego 0
  • Location: Marano Campus Center Arena– Oswego, N.Y.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • London put 14 shots on goal in the opening period, with senior goalie Rachael Farmer turning away all but one of those chances.
  • Trailing by just a goal in the middle stanza, Farmer stopped all five shots she faced to keep the Lakers well in reach of knotting the game.
  • Despite attempting two more shots than London in the second, Oswego could not find the back of the net, heading to the final intermission down 1-0.
  • In the third, the Devilettes were able to pull away with three goals, despite freshman goalie Tia Trovato making 10 saves.
  • Oswego owned a one-win advantage in the face-off circle (27-26).
  • Emma Morisette (8-for-10, Amber Thomas (11-for-17), Megan Teachout (3-for-6) and Morgan Shines (2-for-4) each won at least 50-percent of their faceoffs.
  • Katelynn Ferguson and Eryn Stewart paced the Lakers with four shots each while Leah Czerwinski was just one back with three.
WHAT'S NEXT

Oswego will host one more exhibition game at 3 p.m. on Saturday when William Smith College comes to campus.
