CORTLAND, N.Y. - Junior right side hitter
Melissa Lussier had 15 kills as the Oswego State volleyball team fell by a 3-0 decision to Cortland on the road in the SUNYAC Quarterfinals on Tuesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cortland got off to the quick start in the first by out-hitting the Lakers 12-8 in kills and cruising to a 25-10 opener.
- It was another fast start for the Red Dragons in the second set as they went out to a 9-3 lead.
- Senior setter Julia Flohr served Oswego back to 9-7 to change momentum.
- After an 11-3 Cortland run made the score 20-11, the Lakers closed to 23-21 behind tough serving from junior Emily Costa and five kills from Lussier.
- A pair of kills from the hosts would close out the set, 25-22.
- Three kills from senior Lauren Fie and two from classmate Shannon Stone paced Oswego in the third set, but tough serving and efficient hitting propelled Cortland to the victory.
- Flohr finished with a match-high 27 assists and Costa recorded 20 digs.
- Senior Shauna O'Flaherty had four kills and 15 digs for the Lakers.
- Lussier, Fie, O'Flaherty and senior Sarah Massie all finish the 2019 campaign having reached 200 kills for the season.
