OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's ice hockey team played Amherst tough, out-shooting the Mammoths 31-22, but could not break through in a 3-0 loss. The setback ends the Laker unbeaten streak at six games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Amherst scored first at 13:48 of the first period on the power play after great efforts by the Lakers defense shutting down multiple grade-A scoring opportunities for the Mammoths.
- The Lakers spent much of the first period in their defensive zone and gathered six blocked shots, led by Avery Webster with four.
- In the second period, momentum turned with the Lakers holding the majority of the offensive zone time, but still unable to find the back of the net.
- Oswego took the shot advantage going into the third, 20-18.
- After two periods Rachael Farmer had 17 saves finishing off with 19 in the contest.
- Amherst scored their second goal of the game, even strength, with 8:32 remaining in the third period extending their lead to two.
- The Lakers offense was buzzing in the third period out-shooting the Mammoths by a margin of 11-4.
- Senior captain Kate Randazzo finished the game with five shots on goal to lead the team.
- In the third, the Lakers nearly doubled Amherst in faceoff wins winning 13 of the 20 draws. Mia Conboy won eight of her ten face-offs in the game.
- Battling for a goal as the final minutes came to a close the Lakers had many scoring opportunities but the door was closed by Amherst netminder.
- Amherst scored an empty-netter to seal the win for the Mammoths at 18:49 of the third.
