HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers found their way onto the score sheet less than halfway through the first period, as Tyler Currie sent a pass from the point to a waiting Anthony Passero at the left post, who ultimately centered it to Molinaro for the eventual game-winner.
- Freshman Travis Broughman added an insurance tally at 18:31, just six seconds after returning to the ice from serving a slashing penalty. Broughman's ninth goal of the season was scored unassisted as the Mechanicsville, Va. native took a shot from the right faceoff circle, before cleaning up on his own rebound.
- At 17:31 in the final period the Golden Eagles elected to pull their goalie, opting for a sixth attacker. It took 67 seconds before the Lakers recorded their deal-sealing third unanswered goal, as Josh Nenadal recorded his 13th goal of the season on the empty net. Molinaro earned his second point of the night, tallying an assist on the Oswego score.
- Goaltender David Richer stopped a season-high 35 shots between the pipes, just one shy of his career-best 36 against Fredonia on Feb. 3, 2018.
- With this victory, Richer now has three shutouts on the season, five in his career.
- Oswego's penalty-kill unit was efficient, denying all four of the Golden Eagles man-up opportunities.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers return to action at 7 p.m. on Saturday as they host the No. 2 Geneseo Knights for Senior Day.
