PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's basketball team fell to Plattsburgh in a battle of the SUNYAC's top two teams on the road Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Lakers and Cardinals split the regular season series while Oswego stays atop the SUNYAC standings by a game in the loss column.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was a boxing match the first 10 minutes of action, with each team exchanging blows to the tune of eight lead changes and neither team led by more than four points.
- Oswego found themselves down 25-17 with eight minutes left in the half, but went on a 10-2 run to tie it at 27-27 with a little less than four minutes remaining.
- Plattsburgh led 29-27 at the break as the Laker defense only held them to four points over the final eight minutes of the half, while also keeping All-American Jonathon Patron to just seven points scored.
- In the second half, Plattsburgh increased its lead to 47-35 over the first nine minutes, quickly answered by a 7-0 run from Oswego to make it 47-44. The spurt was highlighted by a turnaround step-back jumper from Brandan Gartland and a 3-pointer from Quinn Carey.
- The Lakers endured foul trouble, as frontcourt mates Tyler Pierre and Joe Sullivan fouled out by the five-minute mark, allowing Plattsburgh to capitalize and close out the game.
- Liam Sanborn put in an all-around effort of 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists with three steals on the defensive end.
- Pierre finished with 10 points and seven rebounds in his 22 minutes played.
- Gartland scored 11 and Sullivan contributed nine points with seven boards.

The Lakers look to bounce back as they return to their home floor at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night for a conference showdown against Oneonta at Max Ziel Gymnasium.
