HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1

Pinch hitter Carly Lawless walked to score the first Laker run and Zoe Mennig grounded out to plate Knowlden. Sarah McCullough followed with a two-RBI single to put the Lakers in control.
- Singles by Erin Sweeney, Vilchez and Wrubel would bring home the fifth run of the game for the Lakers in the fourth inning.
- Vilchez held NYU to one hit through the first four, but the Violets batted around in plating six runs in the bottom of the fifth to wrest momentum from the Lakers and added another unearned run in the sixth to conclude scoring.
- Vilchez (0-1), the reigning SUNYAC Player and Pitcher of the Year, took the loss while leading the Lakers at the plate in going 3-for-4.
Game 2
- Freshman Brianna Harrington (1-0) was dominant on the mound in the second game, going five innings without allowing a run to earn her first collegiate win.
- Oswego broke the game open in the bottom of the fifth when Taylor DuBois singled, McCullough walked and Leah Czerwinski singled to load the bases. Sweeney singled to bring in two runs and Knowlden and Harrington added two more run-scoring hits to put Oswego up 4-0.
- Vilchez picked up the save with the final two innings of work, allowing one unearned run.
- Knowlden went 2-for-2 from the plate and reached base all three times she batted. The senior leads the team in the early going in hits, total bases, batting average, slugging percentage and on-base percentage.
