HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers went up 1-0 in the first inning of game one when Erin Sweeney walked, advanced on a groundout and moved to third on a wild pitch. Emily Knowlden converted the sacrifice fly to put the team ahead.
- Geneseo answered with a run in the bottom of the inning on a pair of singles and two groundouts to tie it at 1-1.
- Another sacrifice fly for the Lakers in the top of the second by Erin Sweeney put the visitors up 2-1.
- Oswego extended their lead to 4-1 in the top of the fourth when Casey Gray walked and freshman Brianna LoMonaco doubled to put runners on second and third. Singles by Madelana Wrubel and Knowlden would plate the Laker runners.
- The Knights closed the gap back to one with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning on four-straight singles before Brianna Harrington struck out a pair to get out of the inning and keep the lead for Oswego.
- Angela Frampton led off the fifth with a single and moved to second on a base hit by Harrington. Sarah McCullough moved both runners up with a sacrifice bunt and Gray walked to load them up.
- LoMonaco singled to score the fifth run but a fielder's choice out and a pop up prevented any further runs to score.
- Geneseo returned the favor in the bottom of the inning when they loaded the bases on a pair of singles and a walk. A double from the right fielder gave the Knights their first lead at 6-5 and they added an unearned insurance run in the bottom of the sixth to conclude scoring.
- Knowlden finished the game 3-for-4 and currently ranks inside the top-10 in the conference in hits, batting average and on-base percentage.
- LoMonaco and Frampton each had a pair hits in the contest.
- In the second game, Oswego was held to a pair of hits by Jessica Roe and Frampton in the 8-0 defeat.
