HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
- The Lakers jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead, led by Erin Sweeney and Emily Knowlden, who scored in the bottom of the first inning. Madelana Wrubel recorded an RBI on Sweeney's run, while Knowlden's score was unearned.
- Oneonta would cut the deficit back to one with an unearned run in the top of the third to make it 2-1.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Brianna Harrington reached first, as her hit bounced off second base. Jessica McCarthy came in to pinch run for Harrington and was moved into scoring position when Sarah McCullough singled in the next at-bat.
- Both runners scored when Rebecca Vilchez singled to left field and the ball was misplayed.
- The Red Dragons were able to counter with a pair of unearned runs in the top of the fifth and forced an eighth inning, tallying a run in the top of the seventh to tie the game, 4-4.
- Oneonta would open the extra inning with two runs, eventually winning the game when the Lakers were unable to bring the tying runs around to score in the bottom of the inning.
- Harrington started on the mound, earning three strikeouts in four innings pitched.
Game 2
- The second game commenced with each team recording a run in the first inning, the Lakers' coming by way of Sweeney, who singled, stole second and advanced to third on a Knowlden groundout. She would score on failed pickoff attempt when the throw from the catcher flew into left field.
- Oswego opened up a one-run lead as Harrington sent a homer over the fence in right field in the bottom of the second.
- Oneonta tied the game in the top of the third, before being answered by two Laker runs in the bottom of the fourth. The lead, one Oswego would not relinquish, was fueled by Harrington's lead-off single to left field before Leah Czerwinski entered the contest to pinch run.
- Czerwinski and Brianna LoMonaco, who walked in her at bat, scored as Sweeney reached on a dropped fly to deep left field.
- A three-run fifth inning insured the Laker victory, with Angela Frampton, Taylor DuBois and Harrington owning the insurance scores on RBI-singles by Jessica Roe and Claire Hewitt.
- Harrington (4-1) earned the win on the mound in 5.2 innings thrown, before Frampton came in to earn her second save of the year.
