OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's soccer team started the 2019 season with a loss to visiting University of Rochester. Two first half goals in a five-minute span was the difference for the Yellowjackets.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• A foul called inside the 18 against the Lakers allowed a Madison Drenowatz penalty-kick goal at 25:45.
• In the 31st minute, Drenowatz received a through ball from Sophie Wall and was able to make it a 2-0 contest.
• Oswego attempted eight shots against Rochester, with sophomore classmates Liz Myers and Graisa Madden each recording two.
• The Lakers' three on-goal opportunities came from sophomore Maggie Riordan, junior Lynsey Roth and Madden.
• Between the pipes, senior Emma Allen made four saves in the loss.

Oswego does not have to wait long to rebound with a nonconference tilt against Houghton College scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday.
