GENESEO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's soccer team fell to nationally-ranked Genseo in its SUNYAC opener on the road Friday afternoon. Oswego held the Knights – who are ranked No. 17 in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll – scoreless for more than 75 minutes but eventually succumbed to two late tallies.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams finished with two shots on-goal in the first half, trading blow-for-blow.
- Geneseo had the first on-target attempt but the Lakers quickly answered 36 seconds later with a chance of their own. Senior Grace Mueller challenged the Knights' keeper but was unable to find the back of the net.
- After Laker goalie Emma Allen made another save, junior Taylor Harrington struck a ball towards the Geneseo goalie in the final minute of the half but could not record the score.
- Allen made three stops in a five-minute span of the second half to keep the home team off the scoreboard, completing the game with five saves.
- Geneseo notched the game-winner in the 76th minute and added an insurance goal nine minutes later to seal the game.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers stay west for the second of a five-game road trip when it travels to Brockport for 1 p.m. tilt on Saturday.
