OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State women's lacrosse team used an 8-1 run in the middle of the second half to pull away from the Morrisville State Mustangs in a 13-8 win on a rainy Wednesday evening at the Laker Turf Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was a scoreless first half until Morrisville scored with 14:27 left in the opening stanza.
- The Lakers answered less than a minute later when Haley Call scored on a free position attempt with Oswego on a power play.
- On Oswego's second goal, Morrisville went for a steal but missed and Molly Beck took off to goal for the unassisted tally with 10:03 left in the half.
- A few minutes later, a hard foul to Montana Garrett gave the Lakers a power play.
- Beck dumped a pass down low to Erin Lehmann who took a step back, wheeled and fired a shot over the shoulder of the keeper for a 3-1 lead.
- The Mustangs got a goal with 2:30 left in the half when Grace Hanehan scored for the visitors.
- Garrett struck first in the second half on an assist from Kamryn Sherman to make it 4-2.
- Morrisville scored three straight over the next four minutes to take the lead.
- It was Oswego's turn to make a run as Garrett tied it a 4-4 and then Beck scored the next two as the rains rolled in.
- Freshman Sela Wiley recorded an assist on Beck's second goal of the run.
- The Lakers kept the pressure on with goals from Kass Myers and Call's second of the night for a 9-5 lead.
- After a Mustangs' goal, Myers and Garrett each scored again on assists from Sherman and Wiley added her first collegiate goal as Oswego took control with 9:45 remaining.
- Morrisville scored a pair of goals and then had a free position opportunity with 3:30 left, but senior Elianna Sanchez made a huge save to allow Oswego to gain possession.
- Junior Riley LaCava concluded the scoring with a goal shortly after Sanchez's save.
- Oswego outshot Morrisville 23-12 in the contest.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers are slated to head down to No. 15 William Smith for a 1 p.m. contest on Saturday, weather-permitting.
