OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Laker volleyball team was stymied by the 2019 SUNYAC regular season champion Knights of Geneseo, 3-0, on Friday night at Max Ziel Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers started strong with a 6-1 start to the opening set.
- Geneseo stormed back with a 9-2 run to take a 10-8 lead.
- Three kills by Cara Simplicio brought Oswego back to 14-14 before the Knights would end on a 11-5 run.
- The teams were close in the second set, but a late 7-2 by the visitors would be the difference.
- In the third set, Oswego went up by a 10-8 lead to start the set before a 13-3 run by Geneseo would lead to the conclusion of the match.
- Junior Sydney Chiffriller led Oswego with seven kills with Georgia Farry and Emily Zeisler four each.
- McKenna Corbin had 12 assists and eight digs with senior Skylar Bechard also recording eight digs.
WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego returns to the court tomorrow with a 1 p.m. home game with defending SUNYAC Tournament champion Brockport.
