Field Hockey Defeated by #16 Cortland

OSWEGO, N.Y. – #16 Cortland defeated the Lakers this evening by a score of 3-0. Oswego fought hard the entire game but Cortland came out on top.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Cortland started the scoring just five minutes into the contest.
  • Leah Romanowski found herself on the goal line 1:40 into the second quarter, saving a goal from the Red Dragons to keep the lead at one. 
  • One minute and 43 seconds into the second quarter Cortland extended their lead.
  • The Red Dragons second goal came on a penalty stroke.
  • Just before the half Cortland once again extended their lead despite offensive pressure from the Lakers.
  • Oswego held Cortland to three goals in the first half, letting up zero in the second.
  • Cortland currently ranks fifth in the country with 4.71 goals per game. The Laker defense stood strong against their SUNYAC foe.
  • Oswego held Ettere to only one point on seven shots, she currently sits second in the country in goals per game (1.57).
