OSWEGO, N.Y. – Behind 25 kills and nine blocks from sophomore
Georgia Farry, the Oswego State volleyball team split a pair of contests to conclude the 2021 season. The Lakers lost an 0-3 decision to host Skidmore before downing fellow Liberty Leaguer Bard by a 3-1 score.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Skidmore
- The first two sets with the Thoroughbreds were close with the teams tied at 16 in the opener and Oswego down just one at 21-20 in the second.
- Each time, Skidmore made the pivotal push to take command.
- In the final set, Oswego dug a big 19-6 hole before clawing back behind tough serving from sophomore Grace Taylor to threaten at 20-15.
- Junior McKenna Corbin posted 17 assists and sophomore Nyah Dias had 10.
- Sophomore Olivia Bunn had seven kills and two blocks while junior Sydney Chiffriller had 11 digs.
Bard
- The teams went back and forth in the opener with Oswego fending off multiple set points before grinding out a 31-29 result.
- Bard rebounded with a 25-22 second set equalizer.
- It was all Lakers in the third and fourth sets, winning 25-12 and 25-9.
- Farry again led the Lakers with 15 kills with just one error on 30 attack attempts.
- Corbin had 26 assists and 11 digs for the double-double.
- Seniors Skylar Bechard (17 digs) and Dana Carey (12 assists) directed the offense to 42 kills.
- Taylor and freshman Cara Simplicio each had seven kills while Chiffriller chipped in with 11 digs.
