OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Field Hockey team falls to the Knights of Geneseo in overtime 1-0.

THE BASICS

• Records:   Geneseo 7-4-0 (SUNYAC 2-1), Oswego 6-6-0 (SUNYAC 1-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Right off the bat Oswego tested the Knights goalkeeper, ripping a shot on goal at the 02:33 mark was Kacie Simzer.
• The first quarter consisted of mid-field presence for both teams, going back and forth on the attempted attack.
• After half the score remained 0-0.
• In the beginning of the third quarter, Oswego had multiple chances in the offensive zone, starting with Kaitlyn Mastracco at the 33:58 mark of the contest.
• At the end of regulation, the score remained at zero.
• At the 66:16 mark of the contest (OT 1), Geneseo was awarded a penalty stroke after goalkeeper Erica Scheblein and Geneseo forward collided on a breakaway.
• The penalty stroke resulted in a goal, giving the Knights the overtime win.
• Also recording shots for the Lakers were Alyssa DeMichael and Jenna Rogers.
• Scheblein finished the contest with ten saves for Oswego.

The Lakers will remain home for a non-conference match against the Nazareth Golden Flyers. The match will begin at 6:00P.M. on October 12.
