ALFRED, N.Y. – The Oswego State men's tennis team went to three sets in three different singles matches and fell by 8-6 margins in two doubles matches during an 8-1 setback to Alfred University on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In doubles action, the duos of Danny Maslowski / Anthony Salerno and Robert Salerno and Raymond Paull each pushed their Saxon counterparts to the brink at 8-6.
- Paull came out strong in his singles match, taking the first set 6-0. Adam Shearer of Alfred battled back to win 6-3 in the second set before Paull won the third 6-4.
- Maslowski was narrowly defeated at First Singles 6-4, 6-4.
- At Second Singles, Anthony Salerno rebounded from a 6-4 opening set loss to take the second set, 7-5. It was a 10-8 third set in favor of the hosts.
- Twin brother Robert Salerno won big in the first set, 6-2, at Third Singles. Sam Cohen of Alfred came back with 6-4 and 6-4 set scores to edge him out.
- Luis Liriano moved up to Fifth Singles and was defeated 6-0, 6-0.
WHAT'S NEXT
The men's tennis team will head to Oneonta on Saturday, May 1 for a match with the Red Dragons.
