OSWEGO, N.Y. - The Oswego State women's lacrosse team won their home opener, against SUNY rival Fredonia, by a score of 16-10. The Lakers used a key 7-1 run during the first half to cement the outcome. Oswego moves to 2-0 (1-0 SUNYAC) on the young season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sophomore Sela Wiley kicked off the pivotal run six minutes into the first half.
- Newcomer Shae McConnell scored the next pair for the Lakers, her second on an assist from Erin Cody.
- After a goal from senior Kamryn Sherman, Wiley put Oswego up 5-1 a little over ten minutes into the contest.
- The Lakers would take an 8-3 lead into the half with two more Wiley goals and one from junior Logan Castiglione.
- Sherman and freshman Isabella Lembo would each net a pair in the second half to maintain a lead of at least six goals for the entire second half.
- Oswego controlled the game from the draw as they held a 19-9 edge in that department behind freshman Julia Quirk and Wiley's 12 draw controls.
- The Lakers also had an 11-3 edge in caused turnovers.
- Goalie Delaney Kendrick made five saves to notch her second win in the green and gold.
- Wiley led Oswego with seven points (5G, 2A) while McConnell (4G, 1A) and Sherman (4G) each had very productive days on offense.

The Lakers remain at home with a 4 p.m contest against Geneseo on Wednesday.
