HOW IT HAPPENED

  • In the eighth, senior Brendon Frank singled through the right side to leadoff and following a groundout, senior Kyle Lauria drove a base hit up the middle.
  • After a balk that moved runners to second and third, freshman Bryce Afthim struck out a pair of Lakers to preserve the lead.
  • The Huskies used a single, groundout and RBI single to add an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth.
