Game Photos

OSWEGO, N.Y.
– The Oswego State baseball team had their 16-game win streak snapped in the doubleheader opener, but bounced back to earn the split with Clarkson University, taking the second game by a score of 11-8 behind homeruns from junior Kyle Lauria and senior Myles Felton.

THE BASICS
  • Final Score:  Clarkson 12, Oswego 9 | Oswego 8, Clarkson 6
  • Location:  Laker Baseball Field, Oswego, N.Y.
  • Records:  Oswego 18-2 | Clarkson 13-14-1
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
  • It was a game of offense as both teams recorded 18 hits in the contest.
  • Oswego raced out to an 8-0 through four innings behind RBI hits from Paul Tammaro, Brendon Frank, Lauria and Felton.
  • Clarkson's offense kicked into gear in the fifth with a pair of runs and then eight more in the sixth to grab the lead.
  • The Golden Knights' bullpen allowed just a Ryan Weiss RBI single over the final six innings to break Oswego's 16-game win streak.
  • Tammaro, Frank and Connor Stanton all had three hits in the game for the Lakers.
Game 2
  • Behind 3-run homeruns from Lauria in the first inning and Felton in the second, Oswego raced out to a 9-1 lead through two innings.
  • Just like the opener, Clarkson's offense awoke with four in the fourth and three in the fifth to close the gap to 9-8.
  • The visitors put the leadoff runner aboard in the top of the sixth leading to Kieran Finnegan to come on and retired the next three batters.
  • In the bottom of the inning, a sacrifice fly by freshman Jacob Levine and RBI single by Jared Kwicinski would give Oswego some insurance.
  • Finnegan would escape the tying run at the plate in the seventh for his first save of the season.
  • Connor VanDreason (2-0) picked up the win with three and two-thirds of an inning pitched and four strikeouts.
