POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Oswego State Men's soccer team was found victorious against the Bears of Potsdam for their first SUNYAC victory of the 2021 campaign. The lone goal came from Smith with just one minute and forty seconds to go in the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers came out hot in the first half with plenty of offensive opportunity.
- Kyle Gehnrich, just 3:08 into the contest had a great scoring opportunity for the Lakers, the Bears goalie kept the game at zero.
- At 38:17 of the first half, yet another offensive opportunity presented itself. Sophomore, Ryan Contreras shot the ball just high of the goalie.
- With end-to-end action, neither team was able to find the back of the net, until Freshman Chris Smith scored his first collegiate goal to give the Lakers a 1-0 lead.
- The goal was scored at the 88:20 mark of the match. Nikola Kovacevic and Omar Espinoza assisted on the goal.
- Smith's first career collegiate goal proved to be the game-winner.
