OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Field Hockey team fell short to the Brockport Golden Eagles this afternoon. The Lakers offense had plenty of offensive opportunities but were unable to capitalize.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lakers started off with a strong drive offensively, managing to get a penalty corner in the first 40 seconds of play.

The match would remain pretty quiet for the next ten minutes for both teams.

Around the ten minute mark, Brockport would pick things up offensively, getting seven shots off in the final five minutes of the first quarter.

Holly Carr would make a diving save to prevent a goal for Brockport.

Brockport would sneak a goal past Erica Scheblein with three minutes left in the first.

Oswego would come out with another strong offensive push to start the second quarter, getting another penalty corner less than a minute into play.

Just over a minute into the second, Taylin Bauer would have a shot attempt off of another penalty corner. Bauer missed just wide right of the goal.

Kacie Simzer would get a shot off around the 18-minute mark, missing wide of the goal.

The Golden Eagles would put the pressure on around the 21-minute mark. Brockport would get three shots off, one would be blocked by the Lakers, the others would be saved by Scheblein.

Oswego would have other chances to tie the match at one, just unable to capitalize on opportunities.

Oswego would have four shots in the first half, only one landing on goal. While the Golden Eagles would have 11 shots, and eight on goal.

The third quarter had a few nail-biting moments for both teams.

Both Oswego and Brockport would have shots hit the post.

Brockport's goalie would be injured on a diving save late in the third, forcing her to exit the game. Fortunately, she was able to return at the start of the fourth.

The Lakers had a few opportunities to tie the match late into the fourth off penalty corners. Kaitlyn Mastraco would have her shot saved by Brockport's goalie twice.

Erica Scheblein would finish with 9 saves on the day.
