OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Men's Hockey team faced off against the Morrisville State College Mustangs this evening for their annual Teddy Bear Toss game. The Mustangs handed the Lakers their second consecutive loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Morrisville was able to strike first in the early going, with a goal scored just under five minutes into the period.

Only nine seconds later, the Mustangs would score their second goal of the evening and give them a 2-0 lead over the Lakers.

After the first period, Morrisville would hold their 2-0 lead over Oswego despite the Lakers doubling their total shots in the period. Cal Schell recorded five saves in the first period.

The Lakers dominated the faceoffs in the first, losing on only two of 15 total faceoffs in the period.

Oswego was able to get on the board halfway through the second period with a goal from Trent Grimshaw coming in at the 11:40 mark. Grimshaw was assisted by Ryan Dickinson and Tommy Cahill.

Morrisville would hold a 2-1 lead going into the final period of play. Schell added nine more saves in the period, bringing his total to 12 through two periods of play.

Oswego would pull Cal Schell with a minute and a half remaining in the game on a power play, down by one point. Morrisville would score on the empty net and give them the 3-1 lead over Oswego.

Morrisville would hold and defeat the Lakers by a score of 3-1. Cal Schell would finish with 21 saves on the evening.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Men will travel to Utica University tomorrow evening to face off against the Pioneers, the puck drop is scheduled for 7pm. Oswego looks to bounce back from back-to-back losses.
