BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Hockey team defeated the Buffalo State Bengals in an utterly dominant performance that saw Mack Hull record a hat trick. After an Ashlyn McGrath goal late in the first period.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first period was high scoring and intense. Simone Bednarik started the scoring off just over two minutes into the game, scoring her second goal of the season off an assist from Mack Hull and Kensie Malone to give the Lakers a 1-0 lead.

Hull would score herself a few minutes later. After Buffalo State tied the game at one apiece, Hull scored her fourth goal of the year off an assist from Malone and Avery Webster, which gave the Lakers a 2-1 lead.

Buffalo State answered on a power play a few minutes later.

Hull had her second go-ahead goal of the first period with less than six minutes remaining, her fifth of the year, off another assist from Malone.

With about 90 seconds remaining in the first period, Ashlyn Mcgrath scored her eighth goal of the season to extend the Laker lead to 4-2. She was assisted by Ariella Haas.

Less than five minutes into the second period, Mack Hull scored her third goal of the game and sixth of the season off an assist from Bednarik, giving her a hat trick.

About four minutes later, it was Bednarik's turn to score her third goal of the season, off another assist from Malone and Hull.

McGrath scored her second goal of the game with just over six minutes remaining in the second period off an assist from Rheya Zemlak, extending the Laker lead to 7-2.

With just over 12 minutes to go in the third period, despite being short handed, Ariella Haas scored Oswego's eighth goal of the game off an assist from Lauren Schell and McGrath.

Tessa Mucha scored Oswego's ninth goal of the game off an assist from Amanda Zenstein and Lexi Levy with 3:42 remaining in the game.

Mucha's first goal of the season capped off a dominant 9-2 Laker victory which saw Oswego outshoot the Bengals 46-12.

The Lakers killed six of the seven penalties called against them in the game.

Hull finished the contest with five points.

The women will return to Oswego to face the Plattsburgh State Cardinals on December 3, and look to push their winning streak to nine in a row.
