BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Men's Hockey team defeated the Buffalo State Bengals by a score of 5-2, after taking the lead in the second period. The Lakers put their foot on the gas and never looked back.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first period was a feeling out process between both teams, with Buffalo State given the only penalty in the first 20 minutes.

Just over halfway through the first period, the Bengals scored to take a 1-0 lead.

Halfway through the second period, the Laker barrage started when Tommy Cahill scored his fifth goal of the season to tie the game at one.

Less than two minutes later, Alex DiCarlo scored his seventh goal of the season off an assist from Cahill and Drake Semrad to take the lead.

A few minutes later, Quinn Warmuth scored a power play goal, his second of the season, off an assist from DiCarlo and Daniel Colabufo.

The Bengals answered with a goal of their own before the period ended, but Oswego dominated the second period, outshooting Buffalo State 20-9 and limiting their penalties to one.

The third period also belonged to the Lakers who outshot the Bengals 12-9 and added two more goals to pad the lead.

The first goal occurred roughly eight minutes into the final period, with Ryan Dickenson scoring his third goal of the season off an assist from DiCarlo and Connor Sleeth.

With six minutes remaining, Shane Bull scored his sixth goal of the season off an assist from Matt McQuade and Ben Addison.

Cal Schell had 29 saves for the game.
WHAT'S NEXT
The men will travel to Fredonia to face the Blue Devils on December 10, and look to push their SUNYAC record to 7-1.
