OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Basketball Team dropped a close 68-60 conference matchup versus Fredonia on Senior Day this afternoon. Persistent offense and team rebounding kept the game in reach as four Lakers reached double figures in points. Prior to the contest, Oswego honored seniors

Raiven Encarnacion.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The beginning of the contest saw both teams exchange multiple baskets in a hard-fought first period, with Fredonia up 18-16 after the first quarter.
- Caivana and Encarnacion tallied 11 of the Lakers 16 points through the first frame.
- Freshman Diamond Pickett got the scoring started in the second quarter, hitting an open three-point shot to give Oswego their first lead of the game, 19-18.
- Like the first, both teams would trade blows throughout the second quarter and Fredonia escaped with a 32-27 lead going into halftime.
- Freshman Elaina Johnson and Pickett led the Lakers frontcourt in the first half, grabbing a combined 13 rebounds.
- After a small Fredonia run to open the second half, Encarnacion scored two buckets and hit a free throw to trim the Blue Devil lead to five.
- Despite the Lakers persistence, Fredonia would eventually take a 50-41 lead into the fourth quarter.
- Three minutes into the quarter, a Shania Iglesias three-pointer and a Caivana layup would again trim the Blue Devil lead down to five.
- Following multiple Fredonia buckets, a Pickett layup with 30 seconds in the game would make it a 66-60 game, but the Blue Devils closed it out from there.
- Pickett recorded an impressive line putting up 19 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals en route to her fifth double-double of the year.
- Encarnacion (13), Caivana (12), and Iglesias (10) all contributed double-digit points in the contest.
- Fredonia earned the sixth and final SUNYAC Championship playoff berth with the victory.
