OSWEGO, N.Y. – The No. 17 Oswego State Men's Basketball team made it five State University of New York Athletic Conference Championships in their last 10 seasons with a dominant 81-60 victory over No. 2 seed Oneonta to punch their ticket to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship. Sophomore
Jeremiah Sparks was named Tournament Most Valuable Player following the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers got off to another hot start, scoring the game's first nine points in the opening five minutes with senior Brendan Mulson tallying seven.
- Sparks and senior Julien Crittendon combined for 18 first-half points as Oswego took a 38-19 lead into the half.
- Oswego's nationally third-ranked scoring defense held the Red Dragons to 21.2% in the opening 20 minutes while the Lakers shot 51.6%.
- Junior Devin Green (15) and senior Jamal Achille (11) each reached double figures in points during the second half as Oswego pushed the lead up to 35 points (69-34) with 8:04 to play.
- Oneonta hit five three-pointers down the stretch to close the gap, but the damage was already done.
- Oswego hit 50% of their shots in the contest and won the rebounding battle, 44-40.
- Under Leone's leadership, Oswego has won the Conference Championship in 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019 and now 2022.
- The 25 wins is the most for Oswego since the 2011-12 season.
