OSWEGO, N.Y. – Behind stellar goaltending by sophomore
Joanna Hiebert, the Oswego State Women's Ice Hockey team played through three scoreless periods before an overtime goal from Cortland handed the Red Dragons the 1-0 (OT) upset in the Northeast Women's Hockey League Semifinal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cortland was the aggressor in the opening period, holding a 10-3 advantage in shots-on-goal.
- The Red Dragons had the only power-play attempt but were held off the scoreboard.
- It was the opposite in the second period with the Lakers holding a 13-2 margin in shots-on-goal.
- Oswego's power play unit had their opportunity in the second period, but were stymied.
- With a 13-4 shots-on-goal advantage, the Lakers had the best chances in the third period, including the best chance on Cortland's only power play during the frame.
- In the overtime period, Oswego killed off the only penalty of the period, but Cortland kept possession in their offensive end.
- A shot from the point by Cortland bounced through traffic and past Hiebert halfway through the period for the game-winner.
- The Lakers ended with a 30-22 edge in shots-on-goal and a 33-28 advantage in faceoffs.
- Hiebert made 21 saves in net and finishes with a 12-4-1 record on the season.
