CLINTON, N.Y. – The Oswego State Softball team split the doubleheader against Hamilton College. The first game saw Oswego trailing from the start, as Hamilton won 9-7. The second game was a low scoring affair ending in a 3-1 Oswego victory. Graduate Student Taylor Dubois hit a two-run homer to seal the Lakers victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
- Hamilton got off to a huge offensive start, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning
- Oswego got on the scoreboard after a Taylor Dubois double brought in Zoe Mennig for a run in the second inning
- Hamilton responded with two runs of their own to take a 6-1 lead
- With two runners on base, Mennig hit a single to bring in the two runners, Oswego brought the deficit down to three runs
- In the bottom of the third inning, Hamilton scored a run off an Oswego error to go up 7-3
- Hamilton added to their lead off of a wild pitch in the fourth inning
- Mennig hit a triple to help bring in Madison Hoeflich for a run. Mennig would score in the same inning, Lakers trail 8-5
- Hamilton scored in the bottom of the fifth inning to extend their lead to four runs
- Oswego scored two runs in the seventh inning, but their comeback attempt would fall short
Game 2
- With bases loaded, Hamilton got an RBI off a walk in the second inning.
- Oswego's Mennig hits a single, and an error by Hamilton allowed Brianna Lomonaco to score, the score was tied 1-1 in the fourth inning.
- Dubois hit a two run homer to give the Lakers a 3-1 lead, this was the eventual game-winning hit.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers take on Cortland in a doubleheader in Oswego, N.Y. The contests are set for 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
