CANTON, N.Y. – The Oswego State Field Hockey Team suffered their first setback of the season in a 1-0 defeat on the road at St. Lawrence University.  Senior Erica Scheblein was stellar in the cage with 15 saves on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The opening frame was scoreless as the Saints outshot the Lakers by a 7-5 margin.
• In the second, St. Lawrence used a 9-2 edge in shots to break through at 23:07.
• Sophomore Anna Coyne dribbled through the Laker defense and cut past Scheblein for the goal.
• Oswego looked for the equalizer in the third quarter behind a 5-1 edge in shots, but could not break through.
• Junior Molly Darcy led Oswego with four shots, two being on-goal.
• Seniors Kaitlyn Mastracco, Kaitlyn Ahle, and sophomore Kate McNally also put a pair on-goal.
• St. Lawrence held the edge in shots (23-19), shots on-goal (19-9) and penalty corners (14-2).
• The Lakers have outscored their opponents by a 36-2 margin this season with senior Kacie Simzer leading the way with nine goals and two assists.
