OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Field Hockey team took on the University of Rochester Yellow Jackets in a non-conference contest this evening. Oswego battled hard, but could not overcome the early two-goal lead that the Yellow Jackets put up. Goalkeeper Erica Scheblein finished the contest with 12 saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first quarter started off all Yellow Jackets as they held the majority of the offensive zone pressure.

Just one minute into the contest the Yellow Jackets scored their first goal.

Less than three minutes later, they scored their second of the contest.

The remainder of the quarter, Rochester had multiple corners and shots on goal, goalkeeper Erica Scheblein had three saves in the first quarter.

The second quarter, Oswego put on the pressure, putting multiple shots on goal and earning two penalty corners to finish the half.

The third quarter started with two yellow cards for the Green and Gold, just five minutes in.

The Oswego defense and goalkeeping held the Yellow Jackets to nothing while fighting off the two and five minute penalties.

The Yellow Jackets got back in the groove in the fourth quarter, again holding the majority of the offensive pressure.

Oswego held Rochester to only the two goals they scored in the beginning stages of the first quarter.

Scheblein finished the contest with 12 saves on 14 shots faced in the contest.

This marks 27 saves in two contests for the Bayville, N.Y. native.
WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego will go on the road for a SUNYAC matchup against the previously nationally-ranked Hawks of New Paltz. This game is set to start at 1:00PM on Saturday, September 24.
