HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Soccer team continued their winning streak against the Highlanders of Houghton this afternoon. Maggie Riordan led the team with five shots in the contest in which four of them were on goal, including the game-winning goal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers took on the Highlanders of Houghton this afternoon and took their 2022 record to a perfect 3-0.
- The first half was all Lakers as they dominated in their offensive end, peppering the Houghton goalkeeper with shots and corner kick opportunities.
- Eventually Amber McDermott crossed the ball from the left and connected with graduate student Maggie Riordan for the only goal of the contest.
- The second half, Houghton started off with multiple opportunities to score, but came up empty.
- The Green and Gold didn't let that go on for long as they took a plethora of their own shots but to no avail.
- The remainder of the contest continued to be a battle with one shot deciding a win or a tie, tensions got high in the late running of the contest as Oswego drew a yellow card at 81:56.
- Ultimately, the Lakers held on for the victory to continue their streak.
- This is the first time since 2013 that the Lakers have won three games in a row by shutout decision.

Oswego will travel to Dunkirk, NY to take on the Bombers of Ithaca on Friday September, 9 at 1:00PM in their first game of the Fredonia Tournament.
