OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Hockey team hosted the SUNY Canton Kangaroos this afternoon at the Deb. The game went to an extra period with no goals being scored in regulation. The contest resulted in a tie with no goal being scored in overtime.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first period proved to be a defensive battle between the Lakers and the Kangaroos. The Lakers won the shot ratio, outnumbering Canton by nine.

Lexi Levy recorded only two saves in the first, with them being the only shots she would face in the period.

The defense continued to dominate through the second quarter, as both teams still couldn't find the back of the net. Oswego kept the pressure on Canton with 12 shots on goal in the period.

The Laker defense only allowed six shots to be taken on Levy. Levy saved all six, bringing her total to eight through two periods.

With no goals being scored through three periods, the game went into overtime with a five minute period of play. Neither team would score in overtime, resulting in a tie.

Lexi Levy would finish with 20 saves in net. Oswego would double Canton's shot total throughout the contest, out shooting them 84-40, with 43 landing on goal.

The Lakers will travel to Utica on Tuesday, January 10th to take on the Pioneers. The puck drop is scheduled for 7:00pm.
