MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – Oswego State Women's Basketball squared off with the Amherst Mammoths in the first game of the Morrisville Tip-Off Tournament. The Lakers fell in the neutral site game to a strong Amherst side.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lakers played it close with the Mammoths in the first quarter of the game as Karleigh Leo and Shania Iglesias scored 5 and 4 points respectively.
- The first quarter would end with the Lakers trailing just 13-12.
- The second quarter was played in a similar manner as the first with the Lakers putting up another 11 points, led by Sydney Hoefs 4 points, while the Mammoths managed 16 points to go into halftime leading 29-23 over the Lakers.
- The Lakers effort began to dwindle in the third quarter as they were outscore by the Amherst side by a score of 21-6.
- The Lakers offense would continue to struggle in the fourth quarter as they only managed to put up 4 points against the Amherst 11.
- Amherst would outscore the Lakers 32-10 in the second half to pull away with a 61-33 win.
- The Lakers struggled shooting in all areas going just 12-63 on the day along with 6-17 from the free throw line.
- Shania Iglesias led the Lakers in scoring on the day with 10 points, while Giavanna White-Principio would lead in rebounds (7) and blocks (2) for the Lakers.
