LAS VEGAS, NV – The Oswego State Men's Basketball team headed to Las Vegas this week looking to continue their undefeated start to the season, but a hard fought game against #8 Case Western Reserve would result in the Lakers first loss of the season.
THE BASICS
Final Score: #4 Oswego 74 (7-1, 2-0 SUNYAC), #8 Case Western Reserve (10-0, 0-0 UAA)

HOW IT HAPPENED
· The first half saw a very evenly played opening 14 minutes as the Lakers and the Spartans would trade baskets and leads for nearly the entire opening half. In the first 14 minutes of play, there would be five lead changes and four ties as neither team was able to pull away.
· The Spartans would find a way to break through first as they would close the final 6 minutes of the half outscoring the Lakers 18-9.
· The first half would conclude with the Lakers trailing 45-35.
· Case Western outscored the Lakers 42-39 in the second half which would be enough to retain their lead and the victory despite the Lakers efforts.
· The Lakers would finish the game shooting 40.6% overall and going just 3-15 from behind the three-point line while Case Western shot 54% on the evening and went 11-33 from three.
· Jeremiah Sparks led the Lakers offense with 23 points, followed closely by Ahkee Anderson who scored 20.

The Lakers continue their week in Las Vegas with a matchup against another nationally ranked opponent, #21 Pomona-Pitzer, on Saturday at 6pm EST.
